The Winter Olympics are almost upon us. Last minute preparations are in full swing here in Vancouver. Some of us are very enthused about the prospect of the winter games while many others less so. At the ski resort of Whistler they do have snow as it is way inland in the mountains. VANCOUVER ACTIVISTS IN SM

After 27 years, VASM, the SM support and informational/educational group which I founded in 1982 still exists. Although the group was more or less "hijacked" by a group of guys who failed to maintain it's programs a few years past, we have managed to rescue it and mak it active once again. The membership is gradually increasing and various activities arranged. Since I am now 86 I no longer actively serve or indulge but am an honourary member. Back in the 1990's we actually became accepted as a registered Provincial non profit society. Our activties include such things as demonstrations, forums, play parties etc. I was given much help by such organisations as GMSMA and members of Chicago Hellfre Club which gave me Associate Membership in 1984 and I remain an associate member. Through the many contacts I made across N. America and the UK and Europe, I have been able to enjoy many close friendships as well as discovering the joys and benefits of truly brotherly relationships.
